F* you, babies is a mother’s book with pages of babies as text, where you push a button and a woman’s words play.
Painted vinyl, wire, vinyl, paper, and thread on vinyl and acetate.
This is one of the babies from my installation ‘Confinement’. I am drawing babies for the new project, “Calico Babies’, that I am developing with Janine Collier. I am looking at these babies for inspiration, even though it seems that the calico babies are going to end up being very different babies than these.
This is the drawing I created for the front cover of the book my sister, Mindi Rice, put together for my mother’s 70th birthday. I titled it ‘Grow’. I thought about how much I love the Kansas prairie and how my mother was a pioneer in some ways.
An old college friend has this. I walked into her house and it was sitting on her mantle. I hadn’t seen it in years and I didn’t realize how much I missed it till right then. It’s from a series I did called ‘Modern Icons’.
